recycling old tent frames

This Year there has been a lot of construction going on around here. Tommy and the crew (the Haitian construction guys/American team people, and the guys from Harvest Craft)have been working on the Aquaponic system. Building grow beds and fish ponds. While he was thinking of what to use to make the grow beds more cost effective, he found these tent frames. They were used to build temporary housing after the earthquake in 2010.

Tommy and Nicholas searched Jacmel to find enough to build the framing for both grow beds. These are going to be called the screen houses.

We are also installing  solar energy system here and needed racks for the solar panels to rest on.

These racks will hold 75+ solar panels. It is going to be an amazing thing to see. I am excited to convert to solar energy. Tommy did an amazing job researching and designing these racks from recycled tent frames.

Children’s Hope added another school this year. Its called The Mountain Institute. And it was built from recycled tent frames.

I can’t wait for you to see all of the new things going on at Children’s Hope!! Recycling old tent frames is just one of the ways God is working in Haiti!!
