Christmas Celebration – Haitian Style: Dec. 2015

The kids at CH along with all of the staff enjoyed a wonderful Christmas celebration.  Our thanks to all the staff who organized, decorated, cooked, got children dressed and participated in the party.  We know this was a time of fun and celebration for the children and all involved!

The miniature Santa is Ruthna reciting a poem. This privilege was creatively used as a behavior goal for Ruthna because she loves to be “on stage.”

The trio of Marco, Jackie, and Koukou also made an appearance at the Christmas Celebration.  As many of you know these young men do various work around CH.  They wrote a hilarious skit that had everyone in stitches!

Luckner and Frisson each did a kompa dance and sang! Below is a picture of Luckner.

A big part of the celebration included a dance where the girls sang a traditional song.  The song says they went out and bought a present and then name the person they want to give it to.  The person they call has to dance to the front, give a child a kiss on the cheek and then take the present.  The present is always fruit.

A big thank you to a Sunday School class at Coosada Baptist Church who provided Christmas for all the children. The MOPS group from Vaughn Forest Baptist Church provided Christmas for the babies (pics coming later of babies).
